Rudy D’Alessandro is an international conservation practitioner whose career encompasses support for diplomatic, natural resource, cultural heritage, and historic preservation efforts. He has more than 30 years of experience working with federal, academic, and civil society organizations. Early in his career, Rudy coordinated law enforcement training in support of Siberian tiger conservation in the Russian Far East, working with the Russian Environment Ministry and wildlife refuges to support anti-poaching efforts under the Gore–Mbeki and Gore–Chernomyrdin Commissions. During the U.S. Chairmanship of the Arctic Council, he served at the U.S. Department of State to support the Arctic Council Secretariat, organizing Senior Arctic Officials and Ministerial meetings in Alaska, London, and Washington, D.C. that convened over 300 representatives from Arctic nations, Indigenous groups, and observer organizations. Over the past two decades, he has provided analysis and coordination of international conservation relationships for the U.S. National Park Service (NPS), including delivering briefings for over 3,000 international conservation representatives, coordinating the NPS sister park initiative, and organizing benchmarking study tours for international delegations. In recent years, Rudy has coordinated activities in Africa and the Middle East, hosting study tours from Saudi Arabia and facilitating exchange visits at NPS sites for cultural heritage managers from Ghana and field rangers from Rwanda. His experience spans Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East, reflecting a career dedicated to linking people, places, and best practices across borders.
